HUT and Zelda Majora's Mask : an analogy
Remember when Abel posted Majora's Mask US advertisement ? I think the link between the album and this game is more complicated than just "oh lol look its the moon like in AHTD tour"
First of all let me explain you the storyline of this Zelda game. After this I'm gona tell you the link with HUT. You don't need specific zelda lore game to understand because it's a really out-of-context game that doesn't really fit in the whole zelda universe, it's the most odd disturbing/horrific game.
Basically Link (the heroes) gets stuck in a weird parallel reality where the moon is planned to crash on earth in 3 days. This event is caused by a demonic-like mask that took control on a pure little kid (who cannot take the mask off, but the mask needs a body to express willingness and to uses its powers). The origin of the mask is unknown, the only piece of information we got is from the mask seller - a really disturbing guy - who says its a really ancient mask used by ancient civilization to do demonic rites, but the mask destroyed these civilization (altho it's not precized whether or not the civilization created or found it).
The goal of Link is to find 4 giants that can stop the moon's crashing. Obviously it is impossible in 3 days. So he got a magical music instrument called an Ocarina. When he plays different melodies on it it can make various things such as provoking rain but most importantly it can go back in time. So when Link (the player) is running out of time (you're in the 3rd day), he can plays the song and go back in time with all of his memories accumulated.
The ambiance is really weird, the different places of the game represent each phase of mourning (the village is crowded with people in denial, they don't even look up the moon because they're viscerally convinced it will not fall for example), so a lot of zelda theorist believes that the whole game is litteraly Link being in afterlife and accepting his own death.
When you finally reach the end of the game (you found the giants and it stopped the moon), you can start a sort of final boss fight with the masked kid, however the mask leaves the kid and it litteraly "enter" into the moon. So Link follows the mask. And when he's litteraly "inside" the moon, it looks like paradise. Litteraly birds are singing, sky is blue, there is a giant tree, the fields are green and masked kids in white clothes are laughing.
The link with HUT is obvious : we have the apocalypse provoked by a collision of planets (which is likely the storyline of HUT so far). The idea of "going into a planet" and find a fake paradise echoes the storyline of HUT and most importantly Dante's paradiso (dante litteraly goes to different planets and finds paradises). And we have the mourning thing which links the idea that The Weeknd is dead and he has to accept his fate (btw one of the most famous zelda quote is from this game, when the mask seller tells you "you have met a terrible fate, haven't you?")
The most interesting part is certainly the mask. The mask-thing with the weeknd was always mysterious but this theory gives some clues. Abel's masks could represent the demon, which is basically the fame and the music industry, this character that he's playing and that isn't actually him (abel tesfaye). Inside this demonic horrific persona, there is a lost little pure child covered in white clothes.
And finally, the missing piece of all of this HUT storyline that nobody seems to get : TIME TRAVEL (WITH MUSIC). I believe young abel will have to go back in time, meet his past self and try to prevent the moon from crashing, aka to prevent abel's death and the apocalypse. Remember the summer teasers where young abel litteraly ENTERS a clock. Finally he'll fight his persona, the weeknd, the mask, and its true form.
(PS : listen to the soundtrack "Song of Healing". It reminds me of "I love it when you're angry" snippet)
